This here watch, it’s somethin’ else. They call it the CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, like some kinda fancy name from one of them space movies. I seen it in the official flagship store, the price tag almost gave me a heart attack! But you know, gotta see what all the fuss is about.
Shiny Black Like a Crow’s Wing
This OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s all black, like a new moon night. Shiny and dark, like a crow’s wing. They say it’s made of some kinda special stuff, “ceramic” they call it. Sounds fancy, but I reckon it just means it’s tough. I wouldn’t want to drop it though, might shatter like a china plate. It’s big, too. Like, 44.5 mm big. Don’t know what them millimeters are, but it takes up a good chunk of your wrist, that’s for sure.
See Right Through It, Like a Window
Now this is the part that got me. You can see right through the darn thing! They call it “skeletonised dial.” It’s like lookin’ through a window into the guts of the watch. All them little gears and wheels turnin’ and movin’. Kinda mesmerizing, I gotta admit. It ain’t got no regular numbers, just some little lines and dots. They say it’s supposed to look like the moon, the Dark Side of the Moon, whatever that means.
- Black ceramic case, tough as nails
- See-through dial, like a window to the soul of the watch
- Big and bold, 44.5 mm wide
Thinner Than Before, They Say
They keep talkin’ about this Apollo 8 thing. Must be some important mission or somethin’. I heard them young folks in the store sayin’ this here watch is thinner than the old one. Like it went on a diet! They say it’s 13 mm thick now. Still don’t know what a millimeter is. Just hope it ain’t too flimsy. You’d think for that kinda money, they’d make it thicker, more sturdy, you know?
This new one is supposed to be better, you know? They call it “upgraded.” Like they took the old one and made it fancier. I guess that’s why it costs so much. Gotta keep up with the times, I suppose. Even us old folks gotta learn new things.
All About That Moon, I Guess
This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, it’s all about the moon. They say it’s to remember some big event, some “iconic moment” as they say, when folks went up there to the moon. Must’ve been somethin’, seein’ the Earth from up there. I can barely see the top of the old oak tree in my yard. Imagine seein’ the whole world!
This whole Dark Side of the Moon thing, I don’t rightly get it. Is it always dark on that side? Do they have cows and chickens over there? Probably not. I reckon it’s just rocks and dust. But hey, folks like to buy things that remind them of faraway places, I guess. Makes them feel special, like they’re part of somethin’ bigger.
Lots of Little Gears
Inside this OMEGA Speedmaster, there’s a whole bunch of little gears and wheels, all movin’ around. They call it the “movement.” Like it’s got a life of its own. It’s kinda pretty, I gotta say. Like a tiny little world in there, all workin’ together to tell the time. Reminds me of an anthill, all them little ants busy doin’ their thing. This watch don’t need no battery, they say the movement of your hand will power it.
- Lots of tiny gears, like a busy anthill
- No battery needed, powered by your hand
- Fancy “movement” inside, like a tiny world
Official Flagship Store, Fancy Place
I saw this watch in the official flagship store. Real fancy place. Shiny floors, bright lights, everyone dressed up all nice. Made me feel a little out of place in my old dress. But they were nice enough, I guess. Let me look at the watch, even though they probably knew I wasn’t gonna buy it. Too rich for my blood, that’s for sure.
They had all sorts of OMEGA Speedmaster watches in there. Big ones, small ones, shiny ones, dull ones. But this Apollo 8 one, it caught my eye. It’s different, you know? Not like any watch I ever seen before. And all that talk about the moon, it makes you think.
Expensive, But a Sight to See
This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, it’s somethin’ else. Too expensive for me, that’s for sure. But it’s a sight to see. All that black ceramic, that see-through dial, all them little gears movin’ around. It’s like a little piece of the moon, right there on your wrist. If you got the money, and you like that sort of thing, then I reckon it’s worth it. Me, I’ll stick to my old Timex. It tells the time just fine, and I don’t need to see no moon on my wrist to know what day it is.
A Little Bit of Magic
This watch, this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, it’s got a little bit of magic to it, I think. Even though I don’t understand all that space stuff, and I surely can’t afford it, it makes you wonder. It makes you think about things beyond our little world. And maybe, just maybe, that’s worth somethin’ after all. You know, even for an old lady like me, it’s good to dream a little, even about the Dark Side of the Moon.
