- Stitching it Up: I went with a classic saddle stitch. Took my sweet time, making sure each stitch was tight and neat. It’s all about the details, you know? It needs to last long time. I don’t want it falling apart after a few uses.
- Adding the Hardware: This bag has some shiny bits – the buckle, the clasps, all that jazz. I found some similar ones at a local store, and let me tell you, attaching those was a pain in the neck! But hey, it’s gotta look the part, right?
- The YSL Logo: Honestly, I was a bit nervous. But, practice makes perfect. I practiced a few times on some scrap leather, and finally, I went for it.
After a few days work, I’d managed to make myself a pretty decent replica of the YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL. I even took it out for a spin, and I got a few compliments! People thought it was the real deal. I mean, it’s not perfect, but I’m proud of it. It’s a solid bag, and I learned a heck of a lot making it.
