Okay, here’s my story about remaking the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag, just like you asked:

So, I’ve been eyeing this Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag for a while now. It’s such a classic, you know? And it’s from the official store, which is a big deal. I finally decided to pull the trigger and try to make one myself. First, I did a little digging online to figure out where to even start.

I looked at some authorized stores and online to see what the bag looked like. Turns out, there are a bunch of different mini bags Prada makes, but I was set on the Galleria. It’s got this timeless vibe, and apparently, it’s pretty much the same as it was 17 years ago! That’s what I call a classic. And from what I read, it seems that Prada makes most of their stuff in Italy, especially their leather goods. That’s good to know.

I gathered all the stuff I needed. I know some of their bags are made in China, like the Nylon ones, but I wanted to stick to the Italian vibe, so I got some leather and tried to get everything I could from Italy, to make it as close to the real deal as possible.

  • Leather – this was the trickiest part. I wanted it to feel and look right.
  • Lining – got a nice, soft fabric.
  • Hardware – this included the zipper, the little feet at the bottom, and the Prada logo.
  • Thread – heavy-duty stuff, because this bag is supposed to last.
  • Pattern – I looked at a lot of pictures and tried to draw a pattern of the bag myself.

Then came the actual making part. I started by cutting out all the leather pieces according to my homemade pattern. Sewing it all together was a real challenge, especially the corners and the zipper. It took a lot of patience, let me tell you. I had to unpick and redo a few seams.

Once the main body of the bag was done, I added the lining. That was easier than the outside, thankfully. Then came the hardware. The little metal feet were tricky, but I managed to get them on. And of course, I made a little Prada logo to put on the front, just like the real one.

The Final Result

It took me a few days, working on and off, but I finally finished it! It’s not perfect, of course, but I’m pretty proud of it. It really looks like a mini version of the Galleria bag. It’s definitely a piece that I think will stick around in my closet for a long time, just like the real Prada bags. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot about bag making. Maybe I’ll try another one soon!
