You know, that Rolex Submariner, they call it “Hulk” or somethin’. Green like a frog’s belly. My grandson, he’s always talkin’ about these fancy watches. Says they’re worth more than my old cow Bessie! Can you believe that?
He kept goin’ on and on about this High imitation Rolex Submariner Green thing. Says the real ones, you gotta wait a long time, like 6 months or a whole year! And they cost a heap of money. I said, “Boy, you could buy a whole flock of chickens for that kind of money!” But he just rolled his eyes. Kids these days!
Now, this here green one, it’s somethin’ else. They call it Rolex Submariner Green. It’s greener than the grass after a spring rain. I saw a picture once, and it’s shiny, like a beetle’s back. They say it is more expensive than the black one, I don’t know why, green paint costs more, I guess.
Anyway, these young folks, they’re all crazy about these Rolex watches. They say it’s a good one to buy. Good investment, they say. Me, I’d rather invest in a good plow, but what do I know? I’m just an old woman who don’t know nothin’ about these fancy things.
But my grandson, he’s smart. He told me all about these Specialty Stores. Places where they sell these fancy watches. He says you gotta be careful, though. Lots of fakes out there, he says. Like them cheap trinkets they sell at the county fair. Look real shiny, but turn your finger green after a day.
- These stores got a whole bunch, all different color.
- You can find the green one, too.
- They say they are real, but you never know.
He showed me how to tell a real one from a fake one. Said you gotta look at the weight, first off. A real Rolex Submariner, it’s heavy, like a good cast iron skillet. The fake ones, they’re light as a feather. Also look at the edges and that bracelet. All sharp and smooth, not rough like them cheap ones.
Then there’s the clasp, the thing that holds it on your wrist. The real ones have these little engravings, he said. Like fancy writin’. The fake ones, they might try to copy it, but it’ll look all messy and wrong. Like a child’s scribblin’. And the links, the pieces of the bracelet, they gotta be solid, not hollow. You can tap them, and they sound different if they are fake or not.
And my grandson said that Rolex, they put a lot of work into makin’ these watches. They have all kinds of machines and whatnot. It’s all very complicated. More complicated than makin’ a good apple pie, that’s for sure!
He says if you find a Specialty Stores that’s sellin’ these watches, you can ask them if it’s real or not. They’ll tell you straight, he says. And they can even tell you how much a real one costs. Or even a good fake one, sometimes. But he says you gotta be careful who you trust.
This Rolex Submariner 116610LV Hulk, that’s another one of them green ones. I don’t know what all them numbers mean. Just more fancy talk, I reckon. But that’s the one my grandson’s been savin’ up for. Says it’s the best one.
He’s been readin’ all about it, this Fake Rolex stuff, to make sure he doesn’t get tricked. There are guides, he calls them, that tell you everything you need to know. I don’t understand half of it, but it is important to him.
- He keeps talkin’ about trusted sellers.
- Says you gotta find someone who knows what they’re doin’.
- Someone who won’t sell you a fake one.
Me, I don’t see the fuss. A watch is a watch. It tells the time. But he says it’s more than that. It’s a statement, he says. Whatever that means. Young people and their statements. Back in my day, a good pair of boots was a statement!
But I guess if it makes him happy, that’s all that matters. He works hard, saves his money. If he wants to spend it on a High imitation Rolex Submariner Green, then that’s his business. As long as he doesn’t get swindled. That’s what I worry about. These city folks, they can be tricky.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these Rolex Submariner Green watches from those Specialty Stores, just be careful. Do your research, like my grandson says. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. And don’t let anyone rush you into buyin’ somethin’ you’re not sure about. It’s a lot of money, like buyin’ a whole field of corn! You gotta be smart about it. That’s what I always say. And if you are not sure, just go find a good solid watch, that tells the time, and leave it at that. A good watch doesn’t need to be green or fancy, just needs to work. That is the long and short of it, I reckon.
