Okay, here is my sharing about the Rolex GMT-Master II Root Beer Bezel:
So, I’ve been eyeing this Rolex GMT-Master II for a while now. You know, the one they call the “Root Beer.” It’s a real looker, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get a good imitation one. I mean, who has the money for the real deal, right?
First things first, I started to find this watch in some specialty stores. I spent a whole afternoon in the watch market. You wouldn’t believe the number of shops out there! I walked into a bunch of them, asked around, and saw all sorts of watches. Some were pretty awful, to be honest, but a few were surprisingly good.
I finally narrowed it down to a couple of stores that seemed to have the best quality. Their Root Beer versions looked pretty spot-on. We’re talking about the right colors on the bezel, the weight felt substantial, and the details were all there. I spent a good hour just comparing them, driving the shopkeepers crazy, I’m sure.

The Purchase
Spent an afternoon in the watch market.
Visited multiple specialty stores.
Saw a wide range of quality, from terrible to surprisingly good.
Focused on stores with the best-looking imitations.
Compared colors, weight, and details.
Spent time examining the watches closely.
I asked to see the back, checked the engravings, the whole nine yards. Even the fonts looked right. It was wild! I’m thinking, “This is crazy, how can they get it so close?” I bargained with the store owner to get a reasonable price. You know, I acted like I knew my stuff, even though inside I was just hoping for the best. Finally, we settled on a price, and I walked out of there with my new “Root Beer.”
After I bought it, I took it to a buddy of mine who’s a bit of a watch fanatic. I didn’t tell him it was a imitation, just wanted to see his reaction. He looked it over, tried it on, and was pretty impressed! He did spot a few minor things, but overall, he thought it was a solid piece. That was all the validation I needed.
I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It feels good on the wrist, it looks great, and nobody’s been able to tell it’s not the real thing unless I tell them. It’s become my go-to watch, and I even find myself just staring at it sometimes, admiring the craftsmanship. It’s a fantastic watch, even if it’s not a real Rolex. For the price, you really can’t beat it.
