You know, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout that fancy OMEGA Speedmaster watch the other day. They called it the “Dark Side of the Moon” Apollo 8 or somethin’ like that. Sounds like a mouthful to me! They say it’s some special watch. And the price, you won’t believe it! It’s real expensive.

This here OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, they say it’s all about some big trip to the moon. Back in ’68, I think it was, some fellas went up there. First ones to see the other side of that moon, the side we don’t see from here. Now, this watch, it’s s’posed to be like a reminder of that. They made it to remember the Apollo 8 mission.
It is black, like the night sky, you see. Made outta that ceramic stuff, whatever that is. They said the upgraded Apollo 8 has a black ceramic case. Feels sturdy enough, I reckon. And it’s got all them little dials and hands, just like them fancy watches do. One of them hands even looks like a rocket! Like that Saturn V rocket they used to go to the moon.

Now, these OMEGA watches, they ain’t cheap. Not at all. I heard them say they can go for anywheres from five hundred dollars to thirty-five thousand! Most of ’em ’round four thousand, they say. That’s a lot of money for a watch, if you ask me. You could buy a good used car for that! These OMEGA Speedmaster watches are for rich folks, I guess.

They say this watch has some fancy stuff inside, too. Some kind of special movement, they call it. The 3869 or somethin’. It’s got all them little gears and wheels turnin’ ’round in there. Makes the hands go ’round, I reckon. And they put the same treatment to make it look like the moon on the back of the watch. Whatever makes it looks like the moon. That’s what makes it tick. They even did somethin’ to it to make it look like the moon. Laser somethin’ or other. Sounds complicated to me!
This here watch, they say it’s thinner than the old one. The old Apollo 8, I mean. They made this one a little smaller. 0.8 mm smaller. Don’t seem like much to me, but I guess it makes a difference to them watch folks. These OMEGA Speedmaster watches are all about the details, I guess.
Still a Hot Item, They Say
Even though they been makin’ these “Dark Side of the Moon” watches for a while now, since 2013, folks still want ’em. They say they’re “coveted” and “cherished.” Means people really like ’em, I guess. Like somethin’ you’d keep in a special box and only wear on Sundays. This OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 is somethin’ special, that’s for sure.

It’s a fancy watch for fancy folks, I reckon. But it’s kinda neat, all that history and all. Reminds you of them brave fellas who went up to the moon all them years ago. Makes you think, don’t it?

This OMEGA Speedmaster, it’s a big name in watches. Like how Ford is a big name in cars, or John Deere in tractors. Everybody knows OMEGA. They been around for a long time, makin’ these fancy watches. This Apollo 8 one is just one of many. But it’s a special one, that’s for sure.
If you got the money, and you like fancy watches, maybe this OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 is for you. It’s a little piece of history, they say. A reminder of that big trip to the moon. And it’s a pretty nice lookin’ watch, too, I gotta admit. Even if it is a little too fancy for my taste!
