Okay, so I’ve been wanting to remake that super chic Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG for a while now, and I finally did it! It all started with me drooling over the bag on their online store. I mean, have you seen that thing? It’s gorgeous!
So, I started by really studying the bag on the website. I looked at every picture, zoomed in on all the details, and read through the product descriptions. This bag is all about the high-end materials and that classic YSL style. I realized I’d need some really good quality leather and some shiny metal hardware to make it look right.
After that, I started hunting for materials. I visited a bunch of local fabric and craft stores, but honestly, I found most of what I needed online. I managed to find some beautiful, soft leather that felt just like the real deal. The metal pieces were a bit tougher, but after some digging, I found these perfect little clasps and buckles that looked almost identical to the ones on the original bag.
With all my materials gathered, I got down to the actual making of the bag. I’m pretty handy with a sewing machine, so I decided to sew most of it myself. I carefully measured and cut the leather, making sure to follow the shape of the original box bag. Then came the sewing part. It was a bit tricky, especially getting those clean lines and perfect corners, but I took my time and made sure each stitch was just right.
- First, I sewed the main body of the bag, creating that signature boxy shape.
- Next, I worked on the flap, carefully attaching the metal clasp that makes that satisfying click when you close it.
- Then, I added the strap, which was surprisingly the easiest part!
The final step was adding those little details that really make the bag pop. I found some gold lettering that looked just like the YSL logo, and I carefully attached it to the front of the bag. It was the perfect finishing touch!
The Result
And there you have it! My very own YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It took a lot of time and effort, but honestly, I’m so proud of how it turned out. It looks so much like the real thing, and I saved a ton of money by making it myself. Plus, I got to learn a lot about working with leather and sewing, which is always a bonus!
It’s not just about the looks, though. This bag feels great to hold and use. It’s sturdy, well-made, and I know it’s going to last me a long time. The fact that I made it myself makes it even more special. Every time I use it, I’m reminded of the work I put into it. It felt like shopping from the YSL online store but with the bonus of making something myself. Who needs those trends from over 100 online stores when you can create your own trend?
I even found some free samples, just like when you order beauty products online! It’s the little things that make this whole experience even better. This bag has been such a good investment of my time, I might just try making other designer bags in the future. Stay tuned for more DIY adventures!
