So, I had this idea, right? To remake a Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag. Yeah, I know, it sounds fancy. And it is. But here’s the thing, I didn’t want to just buy it. I wanted to make it. Or, well, remake it. See if I could do it.

First thing I did, I started looking at these bags. All kinds of them. Big ones, small ones, shoulder bags, mini bags, the whole nine yards. This one, the Galleria Saffiano, they kept making it, so it must be good, right?

Then, I started gathering materials. Found some Saffiano leather, the real stuff, not the fake stuff. They say it’s tough, this leather. Treated with chemicals and all, to make it last. Good, that’s what I want. A bag that lasts.

  • Got the Saffiano leather. Check.
  • Studied the bag’s dimensions. They say 18 cm x 22 cm x 6 cm. Got it.
  • Looked up how they stitch it. That’s important, how you put it all together.

I started cutting the leather. Measured it out, just like they said. 18 by 22 by 6. Took my time with it. Didn’t want to mess it up. Cut, cut, cut. Slow and steady.

Next, the stitching. I ain’t no expert, but I did my best. Followed the patterns I saw on those other bags. Stitch, stitch, stitch. It was kinda relaxing, actually.

Put the pieces together. Like a puzzle, but with leather and thread. Was it perfect? Nah. But it was starting to look like a bag. My bag.

Added the handles, the zipper, the little Prada logo. Found those online. Not the real ones, of course. But close enough.

The Result

Finished the bag. Took a step back. Looked at it. You know what? It wasn’t half bad. Looked like a Galleria, kinda. A bit rough around the edges, maybe. But I made it. With my own two hands.

It was a fun little project. Learned a lot about leather, about bags, about, well, making stuff. Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I might try a different bag. Who knows?

This bag, it ain’t about being fancy. It’s about doing something, making something. And that’s pretty cool, if you ask me.
