Okay, so, I got this idea to try and make my own version of the PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. You know, the one you see in all the fancy stores? Yeah, that one. It’s, like, super classy and all that. I saw it in the official flagship store, and my jaw just dropped. It’s pink, it’s Saffiano leather, and it’s got that shiny enamel triangle logo.

First, I studied the real deal. I looked at pictures online, checked out the details, like the two rolled top handles, the top zip, and that removable leather keyring. It’s all about the details, you know? And the gold-toned hardware? Forget about it! This bag is the real deal.

Then I got to work. I found some good quality leather, Saffiano, of course, had to be the same. I got a local fabric shop, picked a beautiful pink color, similar to the original. Getting the right material is key, folks. Trust me on this.

  • Cut the leather. This was tricky. I made a pattern based on the pictures I saw. Measured twice, cut once, as they say.
  • Sewed the pieces together. Now, I’m no expert, but I got a sewing machine, and with a little trial and error, I managed to put it all together. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you.
  • Added the hardware. I found some gold-toned pieces that looked pretty close to the original. Zippers, buckles, the whole shebang.
  • Made the handles. This was tough. I wrapped the leather around some cording to give it that rounded shape. Took a few tries, but I got there in the end.
  • Then I also made a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap!

The hardest part? Definitely the enamel triangle logo. I couldn’t find anything like that in local stores. Eventually found an online supplier that did custom-made enamel on metal products, and ordered a few of them, had to wait a while for them to arrive. But when they did, oh boy, it was worth it!

After a lot of work, and I mean a LOT, I finally finished it. And you know what? It looks pretty darn good! It’s not exactly like the original, but it’s got that same vibe, that same classy feel. I’m pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie. I can’t get it out of my head that I managed to create a bag that gives off the same expensive vibes as a real one. I carried it around, and people actually asked me where I got it!

So, yeah, that’s my story of how I remade the PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. It was a fun project, a real challenge, but totally worth it in the end. Now I have a bag that looks like a million bucks, but didn’t cost me a fortune. I’m thinking of making another one, maybe in a different color. What do you guys think?
