Alright, let’s talk about this project I just wrapped up. I decided to try my hand at making this fancy bag, the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. They call it an “Original order” which I guess means it’s supposed to be like the real deal.
First, I gathered all the materials. This bag, from what I can tell, is usually made in Italy, somewhere in Florence. Fancy, right? And it’s made of some really nice leather. I got my hands on some leather that felt just as smooth.
- I got the leather.
- I found the right color, a classic black. They call it “BLACK LE CARR satchel in BOX SAINT LAURENT” online. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a black purse when you get down to it.
- I made sure I had all the other bits and pieces. The buckles, the zippers, all that stuff.
Then, I started putting the thing together. Now, I’ve made a few bags in my time, but this one was a bit more complicated. It’s got all these little details that you gotta get right. I studied some pictures of the real bag online, trying to see how it was all stitched together. This Hedi Slimane fella, he changed the name of the brand to Saint Laurent Paris back in 2012, and they say he brought in this “edgy” look. I just wanted to make sure my bag looked like the real deal.
One thing I noticed is that all these Saint Laurent bags have a serial number. Usually, it’s on a little leather tag inside one of the pockets. I made sure to add that to my bag too. I mean, if you’re gonna make a copy, you might as well make it a good one, right?
It took me a while, but I finally finished it. And you know what? It turned out pretty good! It’s got that classic look, just like the real Yves Saint Laurent bag. I compared my bag to the pictures, and I gotta say, I was pretty pleased with myself.
It was a challenge. I had to make sure every stitch was perfect, every piece of leather was cut just right. It was tough work, but I enjoyed it.
The End Result
So, there you have it. My very own, handmade Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. If you’re looking for a fancy bag that’s gonna last you a lifetime, and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, maybe you should try making one yourself. But if you’ve got the money to burn, then hey, go ahead and buy the real thing. I won’t judge. Either way, this bag is a classic, no doubt about it.
