Okay, here’s my post about replicating the Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag:
Hey everyone! So, I got this idea to make a Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag. You know, the little bucket bag with the leather and the net-like stuff? It looked so cool and fancy, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I looked everywhere online for good pictures of the bag. I needed to see it from all angles, close-ups of the logo, the stitching, everything. I even checked out some videos of people showing off their authentic Fendi bags to get a better sense of the size and how it looked in real life.
Then, I started sketching. I’m no artist, but I drew the basic bucket shape and tried to get the proportions right. It took a few tries, I’ll admit. It is not easy to get the right shape and size at first.
Next up, finding the materials. I went to a few fabric stores and leather shops. Let me tell you, finding the right kind of leather was tough! I wanted something that felt soft and looked expensive, but wasn’t, you know, actually expensive. Eventually, I found a pretty decent faux leather that I thought would work.
For the mesh part, I searched around and finally found some black mesh fabric that looked similar to the original bag. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it was close enough.
Now came the hard part – actually making the bag. I dusted off my old sewing machine, which I hadn’t used in ages. I carefully cut out the leather and mesh pieces according to my sketches. Then, I started sewing.
Let me tell you, sewing a bucket bag is no joke! Getting the curves right and making sure everything lined up properly was a real challenge. I definitely messed up a few times and had to redo some seams. There were moments when I thought about giving up, but I kept pushing through.
The “F is Fendi” logo was another hurdle. I decided to hand-stitch it onto the leather. It was super time-consuming, but I wanted it to look as authentic as possible.
Finally, after many hours of work, lots of patience, and a few accidental needle pricks, I finished it!
It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few imperfections here and there, but overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It looks surprisingly like the real Fendi Mon Tresor Mini, and it’s a decent size for carrying my phone, wallet, and keys.
So, there you have it! My Fendi-inspired bucket bag adventure. It was a fun and challenging project, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe I’ll try making another designer-inspired bag in the future. Who knows!
